Elvis was taken…there was already a band called The Beatles. The band needed a name. Originally from Abbotsford, BC, they’d heard that there was a town in BC that was up for sale. They couldn’t afford the asking price, $346,000 & besides what do you do with a town once you’ve bought it….you can’t bring it home. So they just borrowed the name instead. Hedley the town was best known as the place where Burt Reynolds once filmed a movie. These days it’s best known as Hedley, one of the most successful Canadian bands in recent years.
